ABOUT THE ARTWORK
the art is inspired from psychological theories. it depicts the emotional despair of shattering of the soul. i hope the viewer feels the emotional pain that turns into numbness beneath the surface. The numbness eats at the soul, freezing it. I chose oil as it is my favorite medium, the subject is an abstracted girl. I like my abstraction to still show a recognizable figure. for me this can convey the emotions behind the art much more strongly.
