ABOUT THE ARTWORK

When I was drawing these pictures, my husband asked: “Why are you drawing this clown?” I smiled. Michael Jackson has always fascinated me. And dancing is fun :) This painting comes complete with a painting with the same name (you can see in additional images) you can see how I varnish this painting https://youtube.com/shorts/xxGyoj30peM?feature=share At the peak of his popularity, Michael Jackson became a trendsetter in world fashion, and not only in musical fashion. He was bold in his expressions and sometimes challenged. “I am determined to wear what is forbidden by fashion,” said the singer. He was one of the first to transfer bright concert costumes into the category of everyday wear and made kitsch, shocking and pretentiousness attributes of popularity. At the height of his career, Jackson redefined what a popular male performer should look like. “I have to say that I love being the pioneer of new trends,” Jackson once said, before adding with a laugh, “But I couldn’t imagine that my white socks would catch on.” Not long ago, wearing white socks was considered extremely indecent. They were in fashion in the fifties, but in the sixties and seventies they didn’t even put white socks in a coffin. I did not care. My brother Jermaine would get upset and call my mom: “Mom, Michael is wearing his white socks again. Can you do anything? Talk to him". Those white socks made Jermaine really angry. They all said I was a fool. I have a lot of fun thinking about it. But I continued to wear white socks and now they are back in fashion. After the release of Thriller, even rolling up my trouser legs became the order of the day.”
