ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A daydream I had of place collected from an engraved memory. A sojourn to the island Maui, and a visit to a site that is famous for it's giant waves, and appeared to be the perfect biome for mermaids. The triangle sky first drawn in pencil and filled in later with thin layers of watercolour, suggesting a unified field. I continue to play with form, colour and shapes. The triangle appears throughout my oeuvre, as does the idea of an in-between world, somewhere halfway, between you and me, the artist and the viewer.
