winter bouquet Print

This painting was inspired and in memory of my beloved mother. As a model and substrate on which the vase rests I used a map that she embroidered, She gave it to me shortly before her death, a farewell gift from Mum. She loved flowers very much and had an amazing garden Of flowers and herbs, Vegetables and fruits , garden that she cultivated and gardened all by herself. We used to say she has "green hands". I called the painting "winter bouquet" there is sadness in withering, but there is also continuity and fruit and seeds that will bloom in spring. And there is also the map with the embroidered flowers and memories.Her name was Sarah.
