About The Artwork
A set of paintings size 120x150 a 110x150cm that catches distressing atmosphere of the acute fear, but also the vacuousness from longlasting worries. In formal way there is a painting on canvas, created mainly by oil colour, but also by acrylic, charcoal and pencil. Expresive lines and structures are in oposit to smooth areas, what makes the desired thrill. Color scale is composed mainly from grey, sky-blue and dark-brown tones. This canvas reflects my defiance, fear from the fear. Meanwhile the others presents the passive posture, giving in to distess, be satisfied with fake support and not looking for a real solutions. The colorit of paintings cumulates a heavy atmosphere and it matches to some sine wave- from awing stress , across negative or possitive dulling, with invasively but inconspicuously incomming death.

Cynthia Gregorová is a graduate of University od arts in Bratislava, Slovakia and although she studied printmaking, she is particularly close to painting. The author works with the theme of social ties, relationships of the individual with the surroundings. Her expressing medium is a combination of drawing and painting or printmaking, in which she uses mainly monotype and gravure printing techniques. Her creation is both expressive and lyrical, strongly associated with actual survival. Cynthia´s artworks are personal, reflexive, ironic. Essential for her is human, with his fears, ailments, and related encounters.
