About The Artwork
Rich texture, blues, scratched surfaces. This figurative yet abstract rendering of a raven in flight was inspired by a Seamus Heaney work titled 'Sweeney Astray', penned after the Irish legend of 'Sweeney', a young king, who was cursed by a saint to become a bird for eternity. This large format oil painting is textured & painted on deep canvas. An absolute masterpiece for a large wall space, it is a strong visual statement, but one in which the owner can lose himself, seeing different elements come to life from the canvas surface. The work is ready to hang, but will need to be shipped in a crate, hence the price-point. If client is based outside Ireland, I can un-stretch the canvas from its stretcher & ship rolled for client to re-assemble. If this is the case, I am happy to lower price as crate will not be needed.
