This work was inspired by a pandemic. The "normal life" has been lost due to the pandemic, and the new environment has changed the perspectives of people. Now, the so-called "ordinary life" has a different value. New timeframe - slowing down: Due to the stay-home restrictions, everyday life, which seemed unstoppable has been suddenly slowing down. As a result, many people had experienced the eye-opening moment such as realizing how much they have missed out enjoy watching their children grow, and for others, simply pause and deeply reconsider their lives. The new value of life: Pandemic made a huge impact on people’s livelihood around the world. Some lost their loved ones, others lost incomes which maintain their everyday lives. People learned gratitude -how precious to be healthy, to have a family, to have a job, to have food, roof on the top, often so-called “ordinary life”. Slow pace life gave us the type of moment such as finding a snail in the bush for the first time since their childhood. The truth is, the snail was always there, but people just didn’t see without slowing down.

Yuko Montgomery is a Japanese artist living in Nagasaki Japan where is surrounded by magnificent nature. The beauty of nature deeply inspires her artistic creations. Montgomery studied oil painting at Tama art university in Tokyo. Through a realistic and photorealistic style, Montgomery channels her enthusiasm for universal beauty onto canvas.
