About The Artwork

S.A.-What/who inspired the There Will be Tiers? S.W.-My wife Kassia was on a call meeting and I overheard her say, "Oh there will be tears!" and I imagined Tiers like on a wedding cake or like the cascading terrain on the grounds of the Getty Museum in L.A. or people walking uphill to get to heaven. S.A.-What do you hope its viewers will feel/think of There Will be Tiers? S.W.-I hope they'll get a kick out of it and say "that's fucked up" but mean it in the good way like seeing Beck in a dress or being aroused by Bugs Bunny. S.A.-Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style for There Will be Tiers? S.W.-I choose oil to paint like I choose coffee to drink every morning; its my jam. Subject matter and style get folded into the improvisational lather that is my experiential process; subject to changes dependent on the day and the dreams the night before. S.A.-You certainly are one to watch! S.W.-Thank you Saatchi Art. Can you validate my parking thingy?
