This photograph is a series of four distinct conceptual works expressing my feelings about being diagnosed with breast cancer and the procedural treatment process that follows. This image is from a new series of photographs captured at the San Diego Botanic Gardens Lightscape event (December 2022). While photographing at the Botanical Garden, I had no idea that several of my photographs would powerfully articulate the profound journey in front of me. In "Breast Cancer Circle of Healing 1" and "Breast Cancer Emotions 1," the outline of a female breast emerged and changed the concept dramatically to a more personal subject matter. The saturated colors support each image's movement and encapsulate hidden feelings that preceded and followed my recent diagnosis. The other two images speak to the transient states of clarity, awareness, and self-affirmation that seem to waft just above the surface cloud of emotions or like to hide deep inside the layers of dense emotions.

Welcome to my Saatchi Gallery! I'm passionate about exposing strange new landscapes and sharing my visual perspective through the lens. I love capturing the strange allure of people, landscapes, locations, architecture, and found objects. As an LMGI guild member, I enjoy scouting locations. I often take pictures on daily excursions, finding new and exciting places to film. When visiting abroad, I take photographs of my adventures, looking for the right image to post on my gallery. Outside my love for photography and cinematography, I'm an actor and screenwriter. I create and work on original intellectual properties when not acting or producing. I have a creative background in theater production and fine art. When time permits, I love to go to life-drawing sessions. I work with compressed charcoals, conte, pastels, ink, markers, watercolors, oils, acrylics, and mixed media. Thanks for taking the time to muse and purchase my work. It's lovely to know my work emits a strangely-unique perspective that offers subtle provoking thoughts and newfound contemplations. ~ Sophia
