City of Angeles Print

A brief stop off at "Angeles", or officially known as the "City of Angeles" (Kapampangan: Lakanbalen ning Angeles; Filipino: Lungsod ng Angeles) in the province of Pampanga.The name Ángeles is derived from the Spanish El Pueblo de los Ángeles ("The Town of the Angels") in honour of its patron saints, Los Santos Ángeles Custodios (Holy Guardian Angels), and the name of its founder, Don Ángel Pantaleón de Miranda. The irony of the City of Angels is that it has a reputation for 'the worlds oldest profession' and a certain bar culture, which is reflected in these photographs. Taken with Olympus OM-D-EM10 Mrk IV, 42mm (equivalent 84mm for 35mm), 1/10, F5.6 at ISO 1000. These photographs are from the 21 Day Trip across the Philippine Islands in April & May 2022 from Luzon in the North to Cebu and Bohol in the middle to Mindanao in South, photographing the people, the culture and the wonderful scenery.
