ABOUT THE ARTWORK
During popular celebrations in Mallorca, the residents honor their patron saint with liturgical acts and with traditional parades known as correfocs, with the demons running from corner to corner with lit torches and farming utensils converted into fireworks banners. They are parties where artists mix with neighbors, all protagonists. Joy and adrenaline prevail in the midst of fire and roar. A party where everyone is equal behind the search for community fun. These anthropological aspects are what motivate me to capture these moments.

I am Santiago Stankovic, I was born in Córdoba, Argentina. I studied systems engineering and systems analysis in Argentina, where I worked in IT development and service for several years. I have lived in Mallorca, Spain, since 2003. During my studies as a photographer I found inspiration in classic authors, such as Man Ray, Jan Saudek and Robert Kapa. Once I started experimenting on my own, I realized that I was also inspired by the cinema that I have seen throughout my life, and I continue to do so, I am a great film enthusiast. Of course, the greatest source of daily inspiration is Mallorca, its sea, mountains, culture. It is the island where I decided to live and I fall more in love with it every day.
