This photograph presents a compelling juxtaposition of human progress against the canvas of the natural world. The viewer’s gaze is drawn along the dirt road, etched deeply with the tracks of passage, leading toward the horizon where the last vestiges of daylight retreat. Power lines stretch into the distance, symbols of modernity's reach into even the most rural of landscapes. The earthy tones of the path, rich with the imprints of activity, contrast with the soft pastel sky, offering a reminder of the ever-present dichotomy between the industrial and the pastoral. The lines created by the road and cables converge at a vanishing point, inviting contemplation on the direction of human impact and the pathway to an uncertain future. The light in this image is particularly telling; dusk represents transition and the road, illuminated by the waning light, could be seen as a metaphor for the twilight of unspoiled landscapes. This scene is quiet, devoid of human figures, yet it speaks volumes about our interaction with the environment — a thoroughfare cutting through the land, a necessary intrusion that is both connective and disruptive. As an art critic, one could appreciate the depth of narrative in this image. It is a study in the balance of elements — the organic and the constructed, the transient and the enduring. The photographer has captured not just a moment in time, but a reflective commentary on the intersection of human endeavor and the natural world.

Multidisciplinary artist and curator Boris Marinin was born in 1987. Holds a BFA in Screen Arts, and MFA in multidisciplinary arts at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. His artistic process is influenced mainly by self-study, the practice of frustration, and his psychoanalytic analysis. Artists Judith Sasportas, Joseph Beuys, Matthew Barney, and the musical genre Black Metal, inspired artistic decisions and are an integral part of his developmental process. In his art, Marinin tries to differentiate and capture the sublimity of nature using amorphous forms, that do not necessarily relate to the plain material world we know. With his analytical art, Marinin will take us on a journey where we will be exposed to the movement of nature, extinction, and opportunity while uncovering personal interpretations of the connection between an artist and an object in order to show us what lies behind our dimension. Boris Marinin currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria
