ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Years ago, around 1960, saw a couple busily farming, rolling up their hay by hand, along an hilly small field, on a foggy day in black and white, and just forgot about it, amongst those thousands of images. the woman is in white, to the right, while the man is on the left, within the tree bunch, with one of those long hay cutting blades, yet hard to see, essentially an aging couple, alone, minding their small crop, quite a contrast with the 'industrial' cow standing on the sterile technological structure which in a sense made her 'possible' In the 70s binged into the lab working on high contrast 4x5 sheet film, digging into my archives, bent on turning minimalistic images from my standard shots and thus produced that cow standing on the bridge type structure, looking at her wrecked barn, all of it in the clouds like. Today mixed two images from old into a composite expression of how the cow is now just about biologically modernized to the level where for her, looking at a field slowly becomes not 'advantageous', robotisation's new way of 'life'. Today, looking at how that cow and it supporting structure are conceptually if not literally making shit from our planet, with fading lands and small time humble farmers now ghosts from a past not so far off.
