I was inspired to create this work by the natural beauty embodied in the refraction of light through early morning dew as it settles on floral structures and formations. The result is a miniature world that perfectly replicates the photographic process itself, i.e. harnessing refracted light to create a desired image. In this case, the bead of water is delicately balanced on a dandelion clock seed, and the choice of a flower with deep crimson/hot pink tonalities creates a vibrant and eye-catching colour scheme. Photography: Digital, Photo, Color, Paper on Paper. Material: Hahnemühle William Turner 310g fine art paper. High quality, mould-made paper, 100% cotton fiber, natural white, acid-free, water and light resistant, offering the highest resistance to aging. Listing is for one original fine art photographic unmatted and unframed print, custom trimmed with a white border. Any blur, out of focus or texture on the image is intentional. copyright Mark Alan Stringer All images are copyright and may not be reproduced without the permission of the artist.

I’m a self-taught photographer. I was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, brought up on the Wirral peninsula in the North West of England and I currently reside in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). I see(k) beauty in everything (and everyone), and it this that I try to impart in my work. There are many brilliant and brave artists who dedicate their careers to capturing the trials and tribulations of the modern world. However, my own personal impetus is the desire to reflect the beauty that surrounds us; that which we tend to take for granted – from the sublime simplicity of a delicate floral arrangement, to the ferocious fascination of a raging seascape. I have an eclectic aesthetic sensibility and rather than narrow my gaze to one particular photographic genre, I prefer to open my eyes to the myriad possibilities embodied in all genres. Having said that, my principal interest is fine art photography.
