This piece represents a reflection on the nature of the earth’s water cycle. Though tides ebb and flow, rain falls and droughts persist, the amount of water within earth’s atmosphere remains unchanged, and with it our existence is prolonged. The flow of water has shaped the very foundations of society, with cities emerging on river banks and traversal of the seas allowing for the exchange of information and ideas. Water is an essential building block in the structure of life, and our existence is reliant on the delicate but powerful balance it maintains within its cycle.
