ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Long Island Seashell Mystery Copyright 2020 by Ernesto Simon Piece Sculpture and Picture Idea: Ernesto Simon (myself) Photograph: Simchah Weiss, Pic Shot Studios LLC. Designer: Abraham Saal Copyright 2020: Ernesto Simon (myself) Printing: Canvas Champ Wall-hanging size: 16” by 20” Canvas Champ is a multi-national company. They have offices in India, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA; their USA offices are in Greer, SC and in Lawrenceville, GA. The printing is done in India, and they have the facility of shipping the prints to the USA. The material used for printing on canvas by Canvas Champ is second to none. The pieces are printed with a UV-protected latex ink on museum-quality canvas (390 grams / square meter poly-cotton blend). Also, the prints are on a proper-coated, archival-quality, poly-cotton canvas. After the printing, the pieces are mounted on 100 percent handcrafted pinewood frames, which are sourced from sustainable forests. The prints are ready-to-hang with pre-installed metal hooks. Each one of them has a reinforced backing and they come with a guarantee that they will never sag. Ernesto Simon: My Autobiography My name is Ernesto Simon, and I was born in Argentina on February 4, 1961. I was nineteen years old when I came to live in the United States, and I am now fifty-nine years old. I speak English, Spanish, and Yiddish fluently; I can speak French, although not very fluently. I can also manage speaking Modern Hebrew and Portuguese, and I am currently learning German and Italian. I have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting (150 credits, CPA degree requirement), and I eventually intend to pursue a Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I currently work as a private ESL tutor; I teach English to people from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, and other Spanish speaking countries. I co-wrote Sparkle from Darkness, by Ronald Henderson; I am the assistant co-author of the book. I have always enjoyed collecting shells from the seaside; I would glue them together after my vacation. When I finished putting most of them together, I would place my seashell creation somewhere in my house. That was exactly what I did after my vacation in Hampton Bays, Long Island, NY. Only when I started receiving some amazing compliments from people about it, did I decide to have a picture of it taken, and to hire a designer to improve the picture and to help me find an appropriate background. Then I filed for copyright protection and made copies of it for sale. In other words, this is the very first work of art that I intend to sell. When someone looks at the picture, he or she is likely to think of some kind of an interesting mystery in the middle of a beach. That is just what the name – Long Island Seashell Mystery – implies.
