About The Artwork

Memorial fountain One of the main tourist attractions in Palic is the Memorial Fountain, located along the coast of the lake, next to the Grand Terrace and the Music Pavilion, built in 1912 in honor of the completion of the construction of buildings in Palić and the City Hall in Subotica. It was designed by Hungarian architects Komor Marcell and Dezső Jakab. It is a real beauty and you cannot miss it because it is right on the lake promenade. The memorial fountain is carried out according to the most modest conceptual design, but most successfully integrated into the new formed ambiance of the promenade in front of the Great Terrace and the Music Pavilion. In the Historical Archives of the city of Subotica, four conceptual solutions for the Memorial fountain were found. For this purpose, the city provided 3,000 crowns, and as the most favorable contractor, the works were performed by the stone-cutting workshop "Marvanjipar (Márványipar)" from Subotica. The memorial fountain was made of two pools, a three-leaf base, the outer one planted with flowers, and the inner higher one, into which water flows from sculptures, catfish, wild ducks and coots. These sculptures are made in high relief and placed on a central monolith. In the space between, there are niches with a text about the history of Palić. Originally, there were verses by the famous Hungarian poet Deje Kostolani. In the period between the two world wars, the text was changed and is now identical in Cyrillic, Latin and Hungarian letters about the history of Palić. Somewhere in may. From the Squares and fountain collection. Palić lake, Subotica, Vojvodina, Serbia.

Welcome to my Saatchi Art print shop! I am a fine art photographer, photo editor-retoucher and photo restorator and colorist from Serbia with years of experience. I mostly do landscape photography and I love to photograph all those beautiful scenes that are worth saving forever. Here you can buy my artwork prints: fine art prints, canvas prints and framed prints that will decorate your home and all of that in the best possible print quality. All you see here are my original artworks, so I do not resale any stock images. What makes me happiest is when I see that people really like my work and want it hanging on their walls. That makes me work harder and create even more nice artworks. I hope you will like some of my images. Enjoy.
