ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This series is about my need to document the forgotten urban and rural landscapes in and around South Texas where I grew up as a kid. Through these images, I reflect on the character of many abandoned buildings, which have a very unique esthetic that represent time, memory, and sometimes an eerie sense of abandonment. I try to follow a traditional "Deadpan" style with its compositional possibilities. I'm trying to capture the past in the invisible, so I can portray a continuous state of contemplation in each photograph, where visual stillness has no time.
