ABOUT THE ARTWORK

About the Washington D.C. Collection The ELF Moments of ZEN “Washington D.C.” Collection is inspired by the moments of stillness that it is possible to find in this tumultuous city. My intention is for you as the observer to imagine yourself in this place, feeling the energy. Interpreting and experiencing the scene in whatever way that is meaningful to you. About Finding Your Moment of ZEN Zen: to see or contemplate. The ability to pause and be deeply thoughtful, present in the moment. This is a lost art. Humans buzz around and often forget to stop and truly observe. To encourage a mindset of stillness, I offer fine art photography that elicits a feeling of intrigue, enchantment, or tranquility in the heart and mind of the observer. As wanderlust beckons, my passion for exploration is revealed in the diversity of my work, with collections that include ELF Travelogues, A Day at the Beach, Hidden Beach, and Conceptual Notions. I have an innate curiosity that leads me to consider a scene or subject intensely. My images reflect the desire for an observer to be drawn in, having felt a unique, visceral vibration. This art is unembellished and spontaneous, to bring you the essence of what I saw through the lens and allow you to envision yourself as part of an ELF Moments of Zen scene as it genuinely occurred. Fueled by a zestful butterfly spirit, I am on a quest for my art to become your Moment of Zen. A moment you want in your space that inspires you to hit pause and observe, again and again. About ELF Moments of ZEN Art ELF Moments of ZEN images are unembellished, with nothing processed or added. The limited edition images are printed on archival grade, Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl paper, bright white with a luster finish. Each image includes the signature of the artist (Erika L. Forsythe’s initials) on the back of the piece, and a hand-signed & numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The art ships in a tube. Namaste, Erika L. Forsythe [ELF]

About The Artist Erika L. Forsythe [ELF] is a self-taught photographer, delighted by crafting images since returning from field trips with her suburban Philadelphia high school’s photography club and developing film in the darkroom by hand. After a long stint of rigorous daily training for touring on the national tennis circuit, she spent many years employing her college business degree to produce marketing communications in the corporate and university realms. Next, always an artist at heart, when life handed her a 23-acre farm, she grew raspberries, studied how to become a jam artisan, created 14 certified original flavors and became a one-woman processing plant. Now, this spirited butterfly focuses on her quest to use her digital camera to make photos that become your Moment of Zen. Erika’s spontaneous, unembellished images are a reflection of the visceral vibration that attracted her to stop and contemplate as she was exploring near or far. Both the ELF Moments of ZEN visual meditation series and the travel scenes convey her personal belief in the power and peace that can be found in being still, quietly reflecting. Erika currently searches for magical scenes and subjects to photograph from her home base in Maryland, USA. Visit her ELF Moments of ZEN website Follow her journey on Instagram.
