ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Early morning has always been my favorite time of day, quiet, peaceful. Morning Mist, a collection of landscapes created before daybreak. The inspiration for the collection came from an image captured on an early morning drive through the back roads of Quechee, Vermont. Morning Mist is a color study focusing on the beauty of the Vermont landscape as the softest of white fog comes to embrace all, quietly awaiting the sun to unveil the colors of nature. Paige’s evolution into landscape photography allowed her to explore natural light, shape and color, composition, size of the image and choice of paper to create a photograph that has an illusion of being a painting.

About the Artist Paige Hiller is a Vermont based photographer who has been honing her fine art photography skills for the past ten years. Originally a portrait and wedding photographer, her inspiration comes from natural light and beautiful locations, a love for exquisite art, and passion for creating stunning portraits. Paige built a career from her passion for photography and art which has exposed her to some of the most talented and creative individuals, and exquisite art in the world. Formally trained at Rochester Institute of Technology, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art Photography Degree. Paige began her photography career in New York City, working for celebrity portrait photographer, EJ Camp. Her first assignment, process forty rolls of film from her shoot with Tom Cruise, promoting the film, Top Gun. Paige spent an amazing five years assisting some of the best photographers in the world, and has a few wild and crazy stories she could share with you. From New York City, she moved to Boston and the Museum of Fine Arts, starting in the copyright department, licensing images to book publishing companies worldwide. Two years later, the Director of Merchandising, François Poulet, recruited and taught her how to develop, design and produce stationery and print products. "The best part of my job was working hand in hand with curators who shared their knowledge and passion for each incredible piece of work in their collections. It was here at the Museum where I fell in love with art and the history behind each piece." After spending several years at the MFA, she moved back to New York City to work at The Metropolitan Museum of Art producing prints, posters and framed artwork for its retail shops worldwide. How did a city girl end up in Vermont? A small company by the name of Wild Apple Graphics asked her to oversee the creative side of its business. It was an opportunity to work with living artists, developing artwork, traveling around the world. Coming back to Vermont, her new home, to work and play. "And this is where I came full circle, back to my love for photography." Paige lives in Woodstock, Vermont with her husband and two daughters.
