Although I have been involved with photography for a long time, it was in 2015 that I began my journey as a photographer with a decision to return all my efforts and personal plans in order to put the photograph on the horizon to be pursued during my life . This decision was formalized at the beginning of my PhD course, when I included in my project a methodology that made practical production mandatory in my research. As a result, I had to mobilize myself to produce images ranging from documentary records, architecture, landscapes, places, and even portraits taken along streets with strangers. This decision is also the result of the professional space that I have worked in, having graduated in Social Communication, but occupying the chair of a teacher in an Industrial Design course, I realized the gains that the combination of practice and theory can bring to the learning process and search. The designer's need to do, to build, to prototype, as a correlative activity to theoretical or bibliographic research, motivated me to seek this path in doctoral research. In 2015 I did not know what kind of photography I should devote myself to, and this certainty has not yet been established, but after a few years, digging in my HD's, I can select a sample of what I chose at that time, and from that sample I begin to find a way to from the understandings, doubts and convictions that surround these images. From my theoretical research, I adopted as a philosophy of creation, the valuation of two fundamental aspects of photography: the first is its materiality. Hence my interest in exploring the historical processes of chemical printing, which give photography a condition of originality, exclusivity and rarity. The second aspect is about recognizing and promoting the essence of photography as fictional production and imaginary carrying capacity. This allows me to explore human emotionality, tell stories and transform elements of the visible world into aesthetic objects. Through the aesthetics and narratives that the images emanate in us, I align myself with the photographic mission of helping to promote hope, mystery, empathy, justice and the beauty of the world. Constructing fictional versions of reality aims to make the world knowable at other levels beyond what is perceived in a rational way. These fictions sometimes look a lot like documentary narratives, but I do not aim to produce journalistic or factual reports.
