About The Artwork

Marco Cardelli agrees with the general lines of Pop Art's interest for the object of common use (bottle, shoe, glass ...), but he does not accept the invitation to wander into the sphere of complaint, nor into the myth of "object". In fact, in his proceeding, while recalling events of object's estrangement in the reader as J. Rosenquist did, he arrives to break the images free from of all function of use, stripped of the category of 'useful'. Those images though still remaining common objects belonging to everyday life, return to life in a shot; they are entities to be thought of again by virtue of a poetic that is structured in a hyperbole either as expansion (growth) or contraction (decrease) of dimensions, that brings in it the removal of redundant codes of reading habit on which the user rests on. As a result of this poetic, the notion of the photographed objects is weakened and so the concept considered as the sum of characteristics belonging to the object itself. The new achieved forms, however, do not to lie in the limbo of abstraction; re-raised, nevertheless from the visible, are through shooting, re-veiled as evocative, inviting the viewer to a new sensory experience to understand them, suspended the common wisdom, as self-referential and high in its own 'eidetic' sphere. ‘Sphere’ consisting in happily "ghestalthic" structured reports as taken with a Polaroid, where different levels result naturally arranged in new plastic poses. Summing up, the author works by offering perceptive solutions to a space that often the subject with its only shadow, builds, as in the shot dedicated to the stone, where the synthesis is minimalism: the object lives outside of any narrative and psychological residual. Can be considered the salient features of his turning and looking at what you see, the effort to free oneself and release the object from the architecture plant of axes, cancelling the risk of contaminating it with prior perceptive assumptions and intellectual ideas of scenery.
