The Galilee is the olive center of Israel. To travel through the Lower Galilee is to move through ancient olive groves some of which have been witness to hundreds, if not thousands of years of settlement. The Olive Tree is a pervading symbol of the land; representing both social and political issues all the while providing its fruit which itself is also iconic in all its forms. This photo was shot during one of the periodical "Sharav" winds - an Easterly which flips the status quo from the regular Westerly that blows in from the Mediterranean Sea. This strong, often hot desert wind shakes up the region, shifting months of cornered debris as well as jumbling the emotions of people caught up in it. In the meantime, the Olive Tree remains steady. The Olive Tree is playing the long game. Sturdy as the world passes by in slow motion.
