Nestled in the heart of Toyokawa city, towards the southeastern corners of Aichi Prefecture, stands Toyokawa Inari Temple, a profoundly revered Buddhist temple in the region, also recognized formally as Enpukuzan Toyokawa-kaku, Myōgon-ji. What sets this temple apart is not only its extensive array of inari fox idols but also its unique dual role as both a Buddhist Temple of the Sodo sect and a Shinto Shrine venerating Inari Okami, the deity of fertility, rice, and agriculture. It's one of my preferred destinations in Tokyo, offering a tranquil escape from the city's bustling energy. Upon my initial visit, I was captivated by the striking contrast between the stone foxes and the vibrant red banners.
