About The Artwork

Triticum Aestivum (Wheat) These botanical works are a juxtaposition of the fine arts and the detail afforded by macro photography. A complementary combination of aesthetics and the beauty of natural world geometry. Limited edition (#1 of 15) fine art wood print available for sale: 30x20" print mounted on a quality natural-look plywood with a Certificate of Authenticity. The plywood backing is 3/4" thick with a natural wood look, in which the wood grain is clearly visible. Your picture is exposed on premium Fujicolor paper with a Durst Lambda laser exposure system. The print is then developed in a traditional photochemical process. The photo paper is finished with a UV-protective film that keeps your image pristine for several decades, meaning the colours will last for 75 years or more. An integrated hanging system means your artwork is delivered ready to hang. Copyright: David Crosby - All licensing considered, contact dave@davecrosbyphotography.co.uk

David Crosby, born and raised in London, but later schooling and family life was away from the hustle and bustle after a relocation to Middle England. After years in a beautiful Georgian stone town with a vibrant community of artistic and creative people to inspire him, he now works listening to the cries of seagulls in a south western Devon seaside town, nature calling constantly. His botanical works are a juxtaposition of the fine arts and the detail afforded by macro photography. A complementary combination of aesthetics and the beauty of natural world geometry. The transition from technically perfect photography to the adoption of a fine art style came naturally from his long term appreciation of this finesse across all genres. When creating, he begins a piece with the final result in mind but is always open to new processes along the way. His expectation is that when people see his work they are able to feel the beauty in the subject that first captured him. Part of his joy in working on a new piece of art is the sense of contentment at being able to recreate visual experiences and the anticipation of future sharing. Whilst working within photography he is reminded that he is capturing a moment in time, be it staged or natural, a literal and graphical snapshot of history. More recently David has also been studying the works of the generative artists, those artists who sculpt computer art with algorithm manipulation. Their ability to map the numeric world to the artistic is inspiring him to create similar and Is looking forward to sharing those pieces.
