The trip to Greece was a personal eye opener for manual experimentation with the control of explore and its relationship with minimalism and hidden patterned detail. Normally when shooting in a new environment, it's important for my work to give the images a purpose, not only for a coherent theme to connect the environment together, but a purpose that allows me to improve on new techniques. Exposure was the overarching theme I wanted to improve on, whereby I would either manually over / under expose my image during the process of shooting the image, or I would balance and equal out the exposure level with a real representation of the highlights and shadows, with the postproduction and editing process in mind, allowing freedom to use these images within another series which emulates a different meaning and mood through the art of editing and manipulation. When shooting observational images, I try not to restrict the meaning of the raw and original image for one particular series, especially when Im shooting outside a given brief, in order to allow the opportunity to further experiment with editing and creating different interpretations through postproduction.

After graduating from the Arts University of Bournemouth, I wanted to exhibit and reedit my photographs in a more professional format, concentrating my works around black and white minimalism and experimentation with documentary. Being born in Dubai and growing up in the Middle East for 17 years, the culture difference and variety in values and environment has influenced my photography to connect the shapes of both natural and man made architecture, in an ongoing pairing throughout my work. Social documentary is a predominant motive throughout the different series, to record the difference in occupation raging from, Dubai’s old traders in the Creek, to the representation of hospitality in the UK. Further projects to watch out for is a continuous series of photomontage titled ‘Blurred Horizons’, whereby the images explore the subtle digital manipulation, to merge the urban and the natural landscape together according to shape, orientation and meaning.
