ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The work was inspired by stories about William Blake. I imagined him as a child dreaming of angels, which in later life he said he saw in the trees. I also thought of my brother who has passed away and how we grew up together. I hope this work invokes memories, maybe of someone they lost and would like to remember, even an ancestor that they feel might be watching over them. This work is more like a painting in that there is only one. It is made by painting onto the glass then printing that image. The image dimensions are 10 x 7.5inches. I love monotype printing as it is like painting and I can create original one-off pieces that contain painterly marks, with this method.

I show regularly at Bankside Gallery which, the home of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers of which I am a member and fellow. I worked in making limited edition books for many years and these are held in both public and private collections, including the National Art Library, The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), Ashmolean Museum, Museum Van Het Boek, The Hague, Netherlands, British Library, St. Stephen Museum Hungary, U.C.L.A., Winchester University Library and others in the U.K., collections in Cincinnati, U.S.A., and Korea, Trinity College Dublin, Longleat House Library, Yale University Library and other collections; the work also having been shown at Tate Britain. I grew up in Hertfordshire and moved to London to study and have lived here ever since. My love of nature is reflected in my imagery.
