About The Artwork

This is a commission print of one piece. The production of a commission is a very personal one and I'm happy to find out what should be en element in the work that you order. You can decide many things and also changes can be applied. Choose your colour and let me know what atmosphere the place has you want to install the piece. This work is also an idea how you can bring in your personal ideas in a commissioned piece. I am happy to work on a family piece for you.

My works are inspired by a very personal perception of situations. I create live sized figures in monochrome colours to reduce myself to what counts and what is necessary. The line is the most important carrier of information and I use my cutting tools for the woodcuts the same way I would use a pencil. When talking about the practical background I stress that I am inspired by sculpturing and I compare woodcut the way I do it as THE printing technique which is closest to three-dimensional art. The subject matter starts from the idea of a knot, where two parts can be combined to a construct in endless ways. The area of the wood for that reason is mostly constant - I also reduce myself in this sense to a defined unit.
