ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a glicee print; the original painting has been sold. This painting is about courage. I began the original painting at the time Russia invaded Ukraine and I remember being angry and frightened at the arrogance and brutality of the invasion, but I was also incredibly inspired by Volodymyr Zelinsky and the bravery of the Ukranian people. There are times in life (in my life, anyway) where one believes that one cannot push forward, but the spirit always finds a way. I hope that viewers will see and feel courage and determination looking at this painting and that they will know that we humans can get through the tough times.

She has a studio in the Historic Benicia Arsenal artist complex in Benicia, CA. She works in both oil and cold wax medium and acrylics. She likes to experiment adding other materials and media to the paint to create interesting textures and marks. She paints intuitively, responding sometimes to music, sometimes to poetry, sometimes to life.
