Aesthetically the piece is informed by Art Brut and the sculptural forms of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. Based on an abstracted section of an East London street plan, the forms are fluid yet suggest mass and people's energy. The textures evoke the urban materiality of hammered concrete finishes, tarmac, paving stones, bricks and vibrant street posters.
