ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I am a physician and molecular biologist. I love the aesthetics of molecules especially therapeutics. I want to make molecular structures fun and amenable and I believe these structures lend themselves well to pop art treatment. My first job after I left school was in molecular genetics and I worked with this virus and used it to infect E. coli in order to transduce genes and work out genetic maps. Bacteriophages look like man-made machines but they are microorganisms and truly fascinating!
