About The Artwork

Country: Belarus Field of activity: sculptor, artist, teacher Alexander Sergeevich Yushkevich was born on July 11, 1985 in Minsk, Republic of Belarus. In 2000 he has entered Minsk Art College named after A.K.Glebov. During the studying he takes an active part in creative contests and republican exhibitions. In 2004 Alexander has graduated from Art College with a bachelor degree in sculpture and has received the artist teacher diploma. The same year he enters the department of sculpture of Belarusian State Academy of Arts. Throughout the study Alexander repeatedly becomes a participant of both republican and international exhibitions and plein-airs. Starting out from the third year of study at the Academy (since 2006), Alexander combines his studies with work at Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater as a stage hand. In 2010 he has graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts and has received diploma with the specialty of artist-sculptor and teacher. Since 2010 Alexander still works in Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater in a position of an interior decorator. Since 2013, combining work in the theater, Alexander is engaged in teaching activities in Minsk state educational institutions ‘Children's Art School of Art №2’ and ‘Children's Art School of Art №1 named after V.K.Kvirko’ and in Jewish cultural society ‘Emuna’ (to this day). Throughout the time Alexander works as a sculptor. He gives preference for the social genre. The young sculptor concerns about a human and his place in society, his values, his thoughts and deeds, his feelings and attitude to what is happening. Alexander Sergeevich Yushkevich is married and has two children. Alexander plays an active role in social and cultural life. He is the winner of the Student Exhibition and Competition of Visual Arts ‘ART SESSIO’ (held in Vitebsk, Republic of Belarus). His sculpture ‘Mother’ was awarded the Grand Prix. Alexander is a fellow of the Special Fund of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the social support of gifted students and talented youth. In 2005 the young sculptor was awarded a medal ‘Talents of Belarus’.
