Charming animal sculpture inspired by Marc Chagall's fantasy paintings and Pablo Picaso cubiste sculptures. Still a very personal style, made with a playful mind and happy spirit. Felted fiber sculpture represents two dogs in one in an abstract figurative style. Textile sculpture from felted wool, silk and free motion embroidery. Can be manipulated and stands on its own when correctly balanced. It has stunning color blending and an amazing texture that don't show on photos. One of my best critters for now!

A charming mix of narrative, figurative and urban art. Ariane Mariane’s world is full of fancy stories about life & identity. The artiste explore in a spiritual approach limits between real and fantastic. Her art is regularly exposed on art fairs and galleries in France, Germany and Great Britain. Check out more about her expositions here: https://www.arianemariane.com/exhibitions Ariane Mariane’s art is made with joy and a huge sense of humor. Persuaded that art has the power to reveal what’s best in mankind, the artiste creates art that spread good vibes and make the spectator feel happy. “I’m convinced that joyful people can make a difference just because of their positive attitude. I’m not ignorant of all these horrible things happening in our world, the injustice and harms. But I’m convinced that we can only change this with optimistic and open minds. Smile and spread love and your surroundings change as if by magic“! For Ariane Mariane there is no huger reward than seeing people eyes sparkling when looking at her work or getting enthusiastic mails from buyers, saying that her work make them happy! The artist works foremost with wool which is hand felted and embroidered in free motion and / or applique techniques. She employs natural or recycled fabrics (often hand painted), to compose her unique textile collages. Most of her works are reversible and the “back” of each fiber painting reveals a different interpretation of the same subject. She loves working this way, it's like “dealing with the hidden side“ and a great impulse to her imagination. Ariane pretends that art is finding solutions for the unexpected. “My best work happens when I get lost, when I have to deal with unforeseen marks and results." For the same reason Ariane Mariane loves making mistakes. She works with the question «What happens if…” and sees each work as an experiment. “I first play around, doing just what comes up in my mind. After a while I step back to see what happened and then use my experience as a graphic designer and professional artist to find harmonious and innovative solutions.” The reversibility of Ariane’s textile paintings is also intrigued on another level: it brings her work close to sculpture. This is underlined by the fact that her paintings are not even and flat. Embroidery on felt creates deepness, it deforms the fabric and gives it an organic shape. For this reason Ariane Mariane’s fiber paintings aren’t framed.
