Quinn Santone

Photographer and Visual Artist Quinn Santone has the eyes of a disaffected member of generation z. Born in 1999 to a family of Argentine immigrants, he was fed a dizzying soup of romance and tragedy - tales of the old country - and harsh American reality. Like many of his generation, he remembers the telephone and the family computer, but also the smartphone and the advent of social media. Material products would later become a source of inspiration for him as he produced his series "Artifacts Deconstructed" which highlights the manufactured complexity of goods only possible in a globalized world.

Being the son of a general contractor had its artistic perks as well. Growing up on jobsites gave Santone access to a variety of home styles which inspired him to explore architectural photography. In this space he focuses on details, portions of buildings and civil construction, rather than an entire material landscape. Pieces like "Modern Wall Design" caught the attention of judges for the Black and White Photography Awards in 2023 where Santone was awarded a finalist verdict, and the piece itself stands as an example of his unique perspective.
