Since owning my first camera (Polaroid's The Button Camera) at the age of 7, I have always been intrigued and passionate about the art of photography. From turning the loft in the family home into a makeshift darkroom to process my own prints to buying my first digital camera, photography has always played a big role in my life.
Inspired by the nature surrounding us all, from epic skies and vast oceans to miniscule drops of dew caught in spiderwebs, I use photography to tell stories of this natural world - beautiful, intimidating, brutal, strange - and our relationships to it. Photography is my way of manipulating time - enabling me to show people the precise micro-second in which a bubble bursts as well as illustrating the trails left by anicent stars as the world turns.
Since 2012, I have been selling my work online and through a number of licensing agencies. I have written numerous online tutorials and magazine articles to help others with photography and have had my work featured in several leading photography magazines in the UK and India. I have won several photographic awards and have received numerous commendations on my work.
Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS)
I am largely self-taught in photography and art and have been practising both since a very early age. I studied both subjects formally up to GCSE level but then my education branched out in different directions as did my career. A Levels and a Joint Honours Degree in English Literature & Psychology were followed by various career-related study and qualifications; an Adult Education Teaching Certificate (FAETC), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and two legal qualifications specialising in corporate governance and conveyancing for land registration. More recently, however, I have dabbled with some more formal training in photography by completing the Diploma of Digital Photography run by the Royal Photographic Society and the Open University.
My photography has been exhibited over three consecutive years in the International Images for Science Exhibition run by the Royal Photographic Society (2015, 2016, 2017) touring the UK and Europe and included venues such as the Cheltenham Science Festival and the Royal Albert Hall.
In 2017, my photography was featured in the Inspiring Landscapes exhibition launched at Durlston Castle in Dorset.
My work also features in a number of private collections.
