I was born in Lima Peru and lived my first years in Barrios Altos, a heavily bohemian influenced district in Lima. Between the ages of 9 and 13 I progressed from pencil drawing to pastels and at 15 started painting in oils, mostly marine landscapes. At the age of 16 I was accepted into the Art program at Universidad Catolica whereby I was heavily influenced by the artist Adolf Winternit, who at the time was the director and master of the arts programme at the university. His main disciplines were in Painting and Stained Glass fabrication. Further on I received the opportunity of working and studying at the Fernando de Szyszlo’s studio’s. Fernando de Szyszlo’s at the time was a lecturer at the University from whom I received a lot of influence. Rembrandt’s depth of light in his shadings’ light and dark has played a big influence in my style. I am currently using a mix of oil and acrylic and my paintings have a figures of geometric shapes with out limits.
