About Rob Lingelbach
Grew up in New York City, studied music at the High School of Music and Art, then college in Paris (philosophy, music), Boston (Berklee for jazz study), then entered the world of Film and TV production and post-production. Became an editor for TV commercials and then found my true calling in working on the color and look of film and video for feature films, shows and commercials. Moved to Hollywood in 1983 and after 2 decades working with top cinematographers, directors, and art directors, went to Brasil (3 years); Mumbai (1 year); Ukraine; Mexico City; New Zealand/Australia; to train others in the craft of color grading and help cinematographers and directors bring their vision to the screen. After working in research for Dolby Laboratories developing Dolby Vision, I decided to teach literacy in the Public Schools and continue working with images, though mostly still photography. Continue with music through playing classical guitar.
