Romain Parlier is a painter, illustrator and author, born in Paris on 9 August 1983.
He has been drawing and painting since childhood. In 1997, his work won a prize in the school competition at the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
His approach to art is marked by heteroclism, the result of the influence exerted on him by the painter James Coignard, with whom he spent his teenage years. He also studied music at the Antibes Conservatoire. However, it was in physics, then in the sciences and technologies of human movement (where he specialised in the social sciences) that he pursued his higher education.
In 2010, however, he decided to refocus on painting and set up his own business restoring ancient frescoes. In particular, he took part in restoring the interior frescoes of the villa in Nice belonging to the painter Maurice de Benedetti.
This experience encouraged him to show his own work to the public. He held his first solo exhibition, "Langoureuse Ataraxie", in October 2012.
