Born in Roanoke, Virginia, Rhonda Peyton was raised in Florida. She is a printmaker, paper, and book artist who studied with Kenneth A. Kerslake at the University of Florida and received her MFA in printmaking in 2002. Her influences include the etchings of Rembrandt, Georges Seurat, Marion Adnams, Dorothea Tanning, visiting artist to the University of Florida Peter Milton, and Eastern European artists in the Harn Museum of Art collection Albin Brunovsky and Vladimir Gazovic.
After graduating, she assisted Prof. Kerslake at Penland’s School of Crafts, taught printmaking as an adjunct at the University of Florida, and was selected for a tenure track position in graphic design at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. She received tenure in 2007 and after teaching at Santa Fe for ten years, Rhonda retired early to focus on studio work in 2014.
Rhonda’s work has been exhibited in a variety of print and book arts exhibitions including Columbia College’s Paper in Particular juried exhibition in Missouri, the Center for Book & Paper Arts in Chicago, and Brooklyn's Waterfront Artists Coalition in New York.
