Rae Stone

Rae Stone is an emerging, contemporary abstract and mixed media artist from British Columbia, Canada. While Rae has been creating art in various forms throughout her life it was not until 2012, that she started creating her art on a full-time basis. Known as the controversial artist, emotionally charged and poignant, Stone's original abstract art can be described as dark and mysterious yet inspiring. Stone's art is featured in many homes and corporate offices throughout Canada and the United States.

Each painting I create is a a copy of an image inside my imagination that has already been disintegrated into its basic components. Because the subject becomes purely aesthetic, it loses its power as an object and ceases to be a part of reality, transforming into something simultaneously hyper real and abstracted that resonate with people to question their own awareness.

My work is important because it reflects our own experience as humans in a modern world, where everything is filtered several times before we are able to process it. My art is a journey that I am enthralled by, in a daily pursuit of balance, curiosity and creating tolerance.
