My mixed-technique works combine black ink influenced by Japanese and Chinese traditions with dry pastels on paper. Superimposed over free-hand landscapes are minutely detailed drawings of seemingly inconsequential, commonplace elements derived from images imprinted on the artist's retina, camera and memory. The juxtaposition of diverse techniques and content matter forges a fresh dialogue that is hauntingly lyrical yet manifests desolation, turbulence and ambiguity.
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BfA) degree in Cinema and Television from the Tel-Aviv University (1994), focusing on animation. Completed studies towards Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Design, focusing on stage design and lighting.
Winner of America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships during these studies.
A self-taught artist, has studied painting and sculpture with a number of artists. Informal studies include Japanese ink painting, oil painting under Yadid Rubin and art tuition under the artist and curator Revital Ben-Asher Perets, among others.
