Stephen Anthony Davids is a prolific self taught artist who lives and works in his studio in East London. Stephen's work has a strong graphic sensibility which combines drawing, painting and sculpture. The work is both sensitive and mature, endearing but not cloyingly sentimental. It's also not simply masculine but virile, earnest and droll, exploring the 21st Century male experience in surprising ways.Works on paper taken from historical account ledgers feature sketches and slogans reminiscent of a seasoned David Shrigley.
Stephens work is in collections in London, New York, Tokyo, Paris, Italy, Germany, Australia, Sao Paulo, China, Sweden, Africa and Spain. He has exhibited in New York, London, Paris and Belgium.
Stephens works has collaborated with the publishers King & McGraw, and has had his designs as part of the HOME collection for John Lewis.
