Sarah Crossfield

A visual artist working mainly in printmaking, painting, and photography. Sarah is based in South London. Graduated from the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford University. In her practice Sarah is drawn to exploring the ephemeral nature of the world we inhabit. Her observations capture moments in time, using both representational and more reductive/abstract approaches. Shifting forms, light, texture, and colour are reflected in her pieces alongside themes of transition, regeneration, and disintegration.

Landscapes, both rural and urban/industrial, are sources of inspiration. Recent trips to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Dungeness, and the Isle of Sheppey have provided rich source material in terms of land, sea, and skyscapes. Future revisits will reveal how these locations may change in appearance, weather patterns, and habitat over the coming decades.
