Throughout my career I have chronicled processes of abstraction using non-traditional methods and materials. My work reflects a deep respect for nature as I continue my practise of experimentation in the tradition of Canadian landscape painting.
Born 1960 in Toronto, Ontario, Steve attended Emily Carr College of Art & Design. He was the first person in the institute's history to be admitted at the third year level without any prior formal training. He graduated the four-year program in 1985 with a split major in photography and sculpture.
Since 1985 Steve has lived, worked and exhibited in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Connecticut and New York City. In 1994 he was granted a U.S. EB-1 greencard for persons of extraordinary ability. He exhibits internationally and his work is included in both private and public collections that include the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art and the Artists for Kids Trust.
