STATEMENT:
"My art is appreciated by those who are fascinated by the beauty, uncontrollable creative power, and destructive power of nature. Light, mood, perspective, and real gold are intended to catapult people into another world of feelings and thoughts.
Light and reflections have always been significant in my art. Since 2019 when I attended a gilding workshop with an iconography painter in New York City, I was hooked by 24-carat gold and then integrated real gold into my art. The gold in my art stands for light. Where light is, there is also hope. A feeling that guides resilient people throughout unstable times.
With gold and its use in my art, I create sensual experiences for this valuable investment asset. I want people to experience gold on another level."
BIO:
Viktoria Koestler was born and raised in Germany, and currently lives and works in Zurich. After completing a degree in psychology and working for an international strategy and management consultancy, Viktoria devoted her attention to her artwork, receiving training from Chelsea College of Arts (London) and Sotheby’s Institute of Art (New York City).
