My name is Xaverio. From the moment of my birth in Granada, Spain, in 1956, I
was destined to fulfill two important missions. The midwife told my mother, "This child is
going to be an artist and has the gift of healing".
Motivated and happy from a young age, I dedicated myself to art. Sometimes my
fridge was full and other times it was empty.
Working like an alchemist who creates colors and textures, I have used minerals,
sands, crystals, gems and pigments mixed with resins.
I created sculptural paintings that I called "petrals". Petrals are works of materic art
that interact with light, with architecture and with the observer.
I wanted to acquire a spiritual refinement so my artwork would convey positive
energy, peace, harmony and beauty. I attended Native American ceremonies, studied
Tibetan meditation techniques and travelled to India and Africa.
By the age of 45 I had achieved international recognition as an artist. I had works in
some of the most important art collections in the world: the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection
in Madrid, Spain, The Capitol Art Foundation and the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa
Fe, USA. Lady Di, Sean Connery, the Dalai Lama and many other personalities own my
works.
At age 46 I decided to fulfill my ...
Xaverio (Javier Muñoz Bullejos, Granada, Spain 1956), is the third in a family of eight siblings. His parents ran a campsite, which allowed the future painter to establish contact with people from all over the world. his first solo exhibition in 1977, at the Naharra Art Gallery in Almuñécar.
Xaverio's aesthetic research began with the artist Vicente Aunión in what they called Sensory-symbolism: forms of chromatic fluids with an organic-natural character that produce images or psychic sensations. This psychological aspect of Xaverio's work makes him evolve towards a meditative art, in the elaboration of which he will progressively coin the concept of petral, for which he is known worldwide, consisting of the pulverization of pigments, minerals, crystals and gems, with which the surface of the work is impregnated with particles, achieving a chromatism
intense, full of subtle nuances that refract light and allow for thousands of combinations, both figurative and abstract, a symbol of what the painter calls the quantum essence.
In 1983, the Catalan gallery Tertr...
