I've been making stuff since I was about 13 years old. It all started when a friend of mine sent me a webpage that outlined instructions on how to build your own lightsaber hilt from plumbing parts. From there things escalated quickly. I completed my own lightsaber, but found myself thirsty for more. Within a few months I had successfully found and followed instructions to build a lightsaber hilt that included a fully functional and removable blade. The next few years became something of a game to me. I was obsessed with finding things I could build, if I had a good reason or not. It was never about building things for the pleasure of having them, but building things just to prove that I could, and it wasn't that I needed to prove something to others, but to myself. Heck, I have a box in my closet of unfinished projects that are unfinished simply because they weren't challenging enough. My methods were chaotic and my supplies were cheap. As a result of my haphazard way of learning things through trial and error, I found myself knowing a little bit about everything. I continued building things, mostly movie and video game props.
