This pablo picasso quote really rings true in a lot of my paintings, cubisim and abstract expressionism also have a big impact on the way i paint style wise.
Living on mallorca i take full advantage of the scenery here, and take lots of photos, and use them for reference, not to copy blindly sometimes just to zoom in on parts for abstract compositions or steal the colour pallete from a plant maybe.

Some of my paintings have more meaning than others, i could have a colour pallete in mind but no subject matter, just start mark making and be influenced by the first few intuitive marks. There probably is some level of subconcious meaning in there but i like the fact that im not always quite sure, and its not so black and white to the viewer either, leaving it open for interpretation
