Deborah Duffin Mrbs

A lifelong study of the patterns and rhythms of the natural world underpins my work in two and three dimensions. Drawings, photographs and 3d pieces stand alone or may be used in combination to create installations in response to a space, a situation or a theme. I have especially enjoyed the challenge of creating commissioned pieces in unusual spaces - the stairwell of an architects London home, two pieces created for the window of an opticians, a piece zigzagging around an information screen at the University of Exeter - part of their sculpture trail.
Sculptural pieces are made with wire and found materials to create three dimensional drawings, exploring movement, habitation, human and elemental intervention and relationships. These pieces may be shown inside and out, they may be fixed to a wall, suspended from a tree or placed in relation to a physical feature.
My work has been exhibited widely throughout the UK.
