João Paulo Gonçalves

João Paulo, or John Paul, is a Brazilian from the beautiful Rio de Janiero. He studied architecture in Brazil and then attended the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale after he moved to Florida. He has always been gifted creatively and has had the desire to build things since he was a child. When he was 24 he started his faux painting business called John Paul Artistic Painting and he has been running that business for the last 10 years. Three years ago he met his wife Abbie who was currently attending Florida Atlantic University. They got married in January of 2012 and more recently have two young children, Laila and Jovie, growing their family which includes John Paul's two older children; Giulia and Berardo. Over the years Joao Paulo had a strong desire to transition from his business of Faux Finish to creating fine art which until now was only a small aspect of his business.
Most recently he has been able to work more fully as an independent arist creating abstract art pieces with number of different materials and mediums. He creates abstract landscapes and seascapes on both reclaimed wood and canvas.
